Field trip

Corner Bistro
331 W. 4th St. (West Village)

Yesterday we took a field trip all the way down to the West Village for lunch at Corner Bistro. We work in midtown, mind you. It was well worth it. We sat in a dark corner, at a tabletop inscribed with graffiti. We all ordered the Bistro Burger, which was basically a bacon cheeseburger. These arrived on paper plates, along with our fries. This is pretty much as straightforward as you get - no fancy sauces, no foie gras mashed into the meat, no truffle anything. A toasted bun, a thick burger topped with melted cheese and savory bacon, lettuce, onions, tomato. YUM.
