You know it's springtime when...

...Shake Shack opens its doors. You know it's close to summer when they stay open until 11pm.

Shake Shack
Madison Square Park (23rd - 26th between Broadway & Madison)

Before my dentist appointment yesterday, Angel and I headed to Shake Shack. I haven't been since September and I've been jonesing for the juicy, salty burgers. After some deliberation and a 45- minute wait, we decided to split both the Shack Stack (pictured above) - the fried portobello mushroom burger (stuffed w/ cheese) sandwiched between the Shack Burger and a cheeseburger, as well as the Taxi Dog (your standard all-beef frankfurter with onions and saurkraut). We also had an order of fries - crisp on the outside, hot and mealy on the inside - with our own concoction of ketchup, mayo and black pepper. You know all those fancy aiolis they serve with Belgian frites? It's just olive oil and eggs whipped up with flavors - just your basic mayo+herbs/spices/wasabi/etc. That's right so shh.

This is only the first of many visits this year. Shack Stack was pretty much the best thing I've eaten in a while, though half was a perfect size. A whole one would've rendered me comatose. Who knew disgusting could taste so good?

In other news, I think we all need this erotic, meatatarian-approved tshirt.
